The ESL Pro League 2019 has concluded Season 10 with the grand Finals of the competition in Odense, Denmark, and Mousesports are the deserved champions, beating several big names to lift the title and become Pro League champions.

The European squad stomped Fnatic, taking a clean-sweep 3-0 win in a best-of-five series at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals.
This is the first tier-one CS:GO championship win for Finn “karrigan” Andersen led Mousesports, after winning CS:GO Asia Championships in November.

Fnatic beat Natus Vincere with a 2-1 series win and became the 1st to advance to the Grand Final. The Swedes made a great comeback after losing to  Evil Genius in the opening round, cruising through the rest of the Group stage and playoff matches, eliminating Heroic, MIBR, 100 Thieves, Team Liquid and Na`Vi.
Mousesports put in maximum effort to take down Astralis. They played aggressively, which generated plenty of chaotic moments during the series. Mousesports knew it was the best way to beat Astralis, the highly tactical team that is the best at reading the opponent’s gameplan. They started in Group B by defeating ATK in the opening round. However they were beaten by Team Liquid to drop into the lower bracket, having to next take down Renegades and then ATK once again to advance into the playoffs. They faced Evil Geniuses next, taking them down 2-1 to play Astralis, sending them home with a scoreline of 2-1 and joined Fnatic in the Grand Final.

The Grand Finale saw an unexpected matchup: two exciting young sides were pitted against one another for one of the most coveted and prestigious trophies on the calendar. The Fnatic side picked Inferno and Mirage while Mouseports picked Train and Nuke.

Finn “karrigan” Andersen & Co. brought their A game to the series, where karrigan displayed his world class prowess as his Team’s IGL. Robin “ropz” Kool, the only one alongside Chris “chrisJ” de Jong that remained from the old lineup, was a true beast today. The 19-year-old has been shining consistently and he did it again today, finishing the series with 74 kills and only 45 deaths.
The Fnatic side displayed quite a shaky performance, with Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin being the only player to put up a great performance with 71 kills to 58 deaths overall.
Mousesports won Inferno 16-11, Train 16-10, and Mirage 16-11 and were in full control of the game during all of the series. Their squad was so fired up that everybody had their moments during the series.

MAP ONE : Inferno

The series started off on Inferno, the map picked by Fnatic. By winning the pistol round the Swedes took an early start, however Mousesports gave a quick reply by winning the following round. Özgür “woxic” Eker’s ace helped mousesports reach a 3-1 lead. Fnatic managed to win one round before mousesports reclaimed the momentum, then taking a 5-2 lead. Finding strength on their offensive side, Fnatic won seven of the next eight rounds to end the half up 9-6.

Mousesports took the second pistol round as they brought our their own offensive side. Fending off Fnatic’s force-buys, they evened up the score. Rounds were traded before Mousesports got a good momentum going on, closing in on map point with five consecutive rounds. A smoke defuse from Fnatic’s in-game leader Maikil “Golden” Selim could only afford them one more round as Mousesports took a 16-11 victory on map one.

MAP TWO: Train

The series next was played on Train, Mousesports’ map pick. Fnatic scored 3 consecutive wins putting up a 3-0 lead. Mousesports immediately answered back with a round win, Fnatic then one-upped Mouz with a round win, now leading by 4-1.  Mouz hit their T-side stride, putting up four straight round wins before a three-piece from Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin afforded Fnatic another retake. Fnatic secured four of the next five rounds, holding a 9-6 score at the half once again.

It would appear that all hopes for a comeback from Mouz were lost when Fnatic won the 2nd pistol round and yet, against the odds, the European mix stole the second round. Down 7-10, Mousesports put up a dominant defense to earn themselves the upper hand. Thanks to monumental efforts from in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Mousesports found nine consecutive rounds to close out the map 16-10.

MAP THREE: Mirage

Mousesports were now standing on the series point as the game moved to Fnatic-chosen Mirage. Another pistol round win for Fnatic turned into a second-round conversion. Over-eager to secure a 3-0 lead, Fnatic fell to the minimal weapons of Mouz in round three. Mousesports’ defense continued their prowess, taking the lead 3-2. Rounds were traded before Mouz rode the momentum for six straight rounds, ending their defensive half up 10-5.

Fnatic once again won the pistol round and converted the subsequent round. Three rounds followed for Mousesports as they neared closer to match point. An ace from Brollan kicked off a four-round run for Fnatic, the Swedish side poised for a comeback. Shutting down any hopes for Swedish fans, Mousesports found the three rounds they needed to close out map three 16-11.

Mousesports showed how amazing CS:GO can be. They were almost eliminated by TYLOO at CS:GO Asia Championships, which could have led to a series of roster changes since they only had mixed results until now. The team seemed to regain confidence after they won in China, however, and brought the same spirit to Odense for the EPL season 10 finals.

After a disappointing end to his run with FaZe Clan, Karrigan has finally found well deserved success by leading his new team to two major tournament victories. Mousesports had its ups and downs in the last months but can now be considered one of the best teams in the world.

Along with the championship title, they take home $250,000, a point towards the Intel Grand Slam, and a spot in IEM Katowice 2020. Mousesports are now playing at cs_summit 5 in Los Angeles, California.
